Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. Introduction

Welcome to the submission guidelines for UHE Journal of Psychological Science. As a pioneering journal in the field of psychology, we are committed to publishing high-quality research that advances our understanding of human behavior and cognition. These comprehensive guidelines are designed to assist authors in preparing and submitting their manuscripts to UHE JPS, while adhering to the standards set by the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual 7th edition and drawing inspiration from established international psychology journals.

2. Manuscript Categories

PJPS considers manuscripts in the following categories:

a. Original Research Articles: Present novel research findings in psychology.

b. Review Articles and Meta Analysis: Provide comprehensive and well-structured reviews of significant topics in psychology including but not limited to critical reviews, systematic reviews, Meta analysis etc.

c. Methodology Articles: Discuss new research methodologies or analytical techniques in the field.

d. Case Studies: A detailed study of a specific subject, such as a person, group, place, event, organization, or phenomenon.

3. Manuscript Preparation

Authors should ensure that their manuscripts adhere to the following guidelines:

a. Title Page

  • Include a separate title page. The title page should include the title of the manuscript, a running head (if applicable), the names of all authors, their affiliations, contact information, and any acknowledgments.
  • Ensure that the title accurately reflects the content of the manuscript.

b. Abstract

  • Provide a concise abstract of no more than 250 words.
  • Summarize the research question, methodology, main results, and implications.

c. Keywords:

  • Include a list of 3-5 keywords or phrases that are relevant to the manuscript's content.

d. Manuscript Length:

  • Manuscripts should typically be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.

e. Main Text:

  • Follow the APA Publication Manual, 7th edition, for all aspects of manuscript formatting, including font (12-point Times New Roman or similar), line spacing (double-spaced), margins (1-inch on all sides), and headings (level headings as per APA guidelines).
  • Ensure that all citations and references are formatted according to APA style. Properly attribute all sources to avoid plagiarism.
  • Maintain a professional, clear, and concise writing style. Write in the third person and avoid jargon or overly technical language when possible.

f. Figures and Tables:

  • Include figures and tables as needed to illustrate key points or present data.
  • Ensure that all figures and tables are clear, labeled, and cited in the text.
  • Follow APA guidelines for figure and table formatting.
  • Cite the source of any figures or tables that are adapted or reprinted from other publications.

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

a. Introduction: Clearly state the research's rationale and objectives.

b. Methods: Describe the research design, participants, materials, and procedures in detail.

c. Results: Present research findings logically, using tables and figures when applicable.

d.Discussion: Interpret results, discuss implications, and relate them to previous research without excessive speculation.

e. Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and their significance.

f. References:

  • List all references at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order.
  • Ensure that all sources cited within the text are included in the reference list and vice versa.
  • Follow APA style for formatting references, including journal articles, books, reports, and online sources.

g. Originality and Plagiarism

  • The manuscript you submit must be entirely original. Plagiarism, including copying text from other sources without proper citation, is strictly prohibited.
  • Carefully cite and reference all sources, including your own previously published work, to avoid self-plagiarism.
  • Utilize plagiarism detection software if needed to ensure the manuscript's originality.

5. Submission Process

a. Online Submission:

  • Submit your manuscript online through the journal's submission portal.
  • Follow the submission guidelines provided by the journal, including the preferred file format (e.g., PDF or Word) and any specific instructions for file naming.

b. Cover Letter:

Include a cover letter outlining the research's significance and confirming that the manuscript has not been submitted elsewhere.

6. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo rigorous peer review. Reviewers assess manuscripts based on originality, methodology, significance, and clarity. Authors will receive feedback and may be asked for revisions.

7. Ethical Considerations

  • Ensure that all research involving human subjects or animals complies with ethical guidelines and has received appropriate institutional approvals.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest, funding sources, or financial disclosures in your manuscript.

8. Copyright

Upon acceptance, authors transfer copyright to UHE JPS, while retaining rights for educational and non-commercial use.

9.Open Access

Journal offers open access options, allowing authors to make their work freely accessible. There are no submission fees.
